UCSC's crosswalks literally look like militarized zones. (opinion)
This morning, at the intersection near College 9, I counted seven (yes, seven) people managing one crosswalk. (facts)
This has been happening for the past week, and im sure many if you have seen the same.
Scene
Person 1: Actually guiding traffic
Person 2-7 : standing still and motioning their hands for students to go after Person 1 blows the whistle.
this is what we are paying for.
Note that this is not a opinion on the people (im sure they are cool), but rather the system.
Conclusion
Look, I like TAPS (Transportation & Parking Services), especially their bcycle plan.
(To our knowledge), they keep accidents from happening and chaos from erupting, and half the time they deal with drivers who don't yield, like go take your test again bruv.
But theres something very wrong here.
Let's think for a second, we pay 40 grand a year.
I want to ask a question, is this is what our tuition goes to????
wow.
Maybe next time, they’ll expand the team to ten.
