The UCSC.Club was built by students for students who want to tell the reality of things, and it is run by students.

About classes, the cafeteria food, the dorm mold, the parties, professors, and literally everything.

Our mission is simple:

Why We Exist

We realize that the “official” UCSC story is not what we experience everyday.
We love this campus, but it's not perfect.
Sometimes, dining hall food feels like a prey for a lion.

Sometimes Wi-Fi just disappears, and your assignment gets cooked.

And sometimes the mold in your dorm seems more alive than your GPA.

We don't pretend everything's fine, we embraces what UCSC really is.

It's a weird, beautiful, chaotic ecosystem of students who care, complain, create, and have random "the lion doesn't concern him with fake news" memes.

We're not afraid to talk about the uncomfortable stuff. The point isn't to tear down UCSC, but rather, to tell its story through the eyes of the people who actually live it.

Who We Are

We’re an mix of writers, photographers, and students, really, that have one thing in common:

We want to make UCSC a place where honesty = authenticity

As one of our team members puts it honestly:

"I'm really interested in creating a space where students can feel comfortable sharing their true feelings about UCSC and of the campus. I feel like, especially with the UC's, a lot of students feel obligated to speak highly of the educators, campus, etc., when in reality, it's not always that glorious. There are things that I would like to point out, and I feel like other students feel the same way."

That's what we do.

The Plan

We're not just news, we're planning to grow into a living record of student life.
A mix of memes, essays, and investigative stories for future slugs to look back at and say,

“Yeah… that’s exactly how it felt.”

Expect rankings. Expect satire. Expect deep dives into topics you didn't even realize mattered until someone finally said it out loud.
